AI Chat

The AI chat is integrated directly into easymap and helps you find answers quickly if you get stuck with a function. It draws on the content of the easymap-help portal. You can use the built-in feedback system to let us know how helpful the answers were – this helps us to improve the AI in a targeted way.

Vector tiles

easymap12.3 supports the integration of vector tiles as a background map. Vector tiles are a modern map format in which geographical data is transmitted as vectors – not as finished images. Vector tiles allow for customisation: colours, layers and stylistic elements can be set directly in easymap customise. Vector maps are available for the DACH region and as a world map.

Change Log: From now on, all changes will be documented

All new changes will be documented and published starting with Service Pack 1. This will give you a clear overview of the changes that have been made, the new functions and features that have been added, and the bugs that have been fixed.

Generate a map export via the command line

From version 12.3 onwards, map exports can also be controlled via the command line. This enables automated map exports – for example, for recurring reports or analyses – without the need for manual interaction with the user interface. This feature requires the appropriate map licences.

Comprehensive English support portal

The support portal was already available in English. However, until now, all images, graphics and screenshots had featured a German user interface. This has now been rectified: all images, graphics and screenshots are now available in English to match the English user interface. easymap vor.

New window: Insert additional content

When inserting a new layer from the Map Basemaps control window, the following prompt appears: easymap12.3 Now automatically determines whether additional content should be added. The options available are basic topography, vector tiles and raster tiles. These enhance the map visually – for example, by adding road networks or topographical features – without affecting the mathematical analysis.

A tidy control window: Base Maps

The ‘Map Baseline’ control window is in easymap12.3 has been restructured. The map data is now organised hierarchically by country and category. Under each country, the available content is sorted by type (e.g. administrative, postal, background maps), with the respective data versions and the territorial levels they contain listed below.

This makes it easier to choose the right map and helps to keep things organised, particularly when there are base maps for several countries or different administrative divisions.

Tour planning

Route planning was introduced as a service pack update and is available as an add-on from easymap 12.2 onwards. Using the route and capacity calculation function, visit and journey times, as well as the distance in kilometres for the respective areas, can be determined.

Our tour planning tool supports, amongst other things:

  • Comparison of travel and visiting times

  • Route planning with capacity calculations for up to 52 weeks

  • Individual visiting times and schedules

  • Evaluation according to travel time or distance

  • Consideration of overnight tours

  • Territory optimization in consideration of capacity utilization

Travel Time & Route Calculations for District Analysis & Optimization

Journey time and route calculations are now available free of charge in area optimisation and district analysis in easymap professional version is available. No credits are required for this.

Please note: This does not apply to the use of relationships or accessibility analyses – credits are still required for these.

Upgrade isochrones

The calculation of isochrones has been improved in two areas. Isochrones show which areas can be reached from a given location within a specific journey time or distance.

easymap explorer: Isochrons can now be uploaded to explorer. This allows you to share reachability analyses directly with colleagues.

Create queries from filters

A filter applied to a table (including multi-criteria filters) can now be converted directly into a query at the touch of a button using the “Query from Filter” function, and will subsequently update automatically whenever changes are made to the underlying data. This means that no knowledge of queries is required.

Calculating Averages in Spreadsheets and Queries

In tables and queries, you can now calculate not only the sum of a column but also its average. You can switch between the two calculation methods.

Integration with OneDrive and SharePoint

Map projects can now be opened and saved directly from Microsoft OneDrive or SharePoint – without having to download them locally first. The connection to OneDrive and SharePoint is implemented as a direct integration. It is still possible to access them via network paths.

Support for a new map format: Geopackage

easymap now supports the GeoPackage (.gpkg) map format. GeoPackage is an open format for geodata, based on SQLite, which can be used without proprietary software. It can be used as a map base in easymap can be integrated and is suitable as an alternative to ESRI Shapefiles – for example, when importing geodata from other GIS systems or open data sources.

easymap explorer: Select preview pane

There is now a new feature in the Share dialogue: you can specify directly which image should be used as the preview image for your Explorer map.

easymap explorer: Column headings

Use the new column headers in easymap explorer to make your tooltip even more organized and structured. In the advanced settings, you’ll now find options for customizing how your tables’ data is displayed. With greater structure and organization, you can grasp the key points more quickly and efficiently.
