Public links
Public links to the map folders open the following possibilities:
- Access to the map folder for easymap explorer users who would not be authorized to view it without the link.
- Access to the map also for viewers without own easymap explorer account.
- Integration of maps into other websites or third party web applications.
When sharing public links with viewers who do not have an easymap explorer account, you can optionally assign a password and a time-limited validity to the link.
Create public links
The possibility to generate public links can be found in the settings for the relevant map folder. You can get there either via the map catalog the map catalog by clicking on the preview image or in the map view itself, via the hamburger menu and then click on map folder.
- Click Link to generate a link to share with other viewers.
- Clicking Embed will generate the link with an HTML code, which can be embedded in other web pages. The map is ready to run immediately.
- By disabling the button in front of Allow access via public links, you can subsequently block already generated links.
Note: To share a link to a specific map section with other easymap explorer users, simply copy the current link from your browser's address bar in the map folder view.
Vary the map view with URL parameters
The generated links or HTML codes can additionally be extended via URL parameters and thus influence the displayed map content.
