Workbook Share Wizard
The wizard release workbook leads you in several steps to the finished easymap explorer-map, which you can view in your browser.
Most of the settings are taken from the present map folder. Please also refer to the section Information for the map creator.
Log in on easymap explorer Portal
To be able to release the workbook, you must first log in with your access data on the easymap explorer - Register the server. Select the server on which you want to publish the workbook. This can be theeasymap explorer Cloud Service (https://easymap-xplorer.de) or a company owned server

If you do not use your own server, you can use our easymap explorer Cloud Service is available. There you can choose between different login procedures:
These login data are saved for the next release of a workbook.
The login data depends on which server you are using. If you have your own server you may be able to log in with your Windows login, in all other cases you have to enter the special login data for the easymap explorer Specify server.
If you use the Windows login (business account) for logging in, no further settings need to be made here. However, your administrator must enable you to use the server in this case.
Delete login information
Click Login Information Delete to delete previously specified login information and log another user in.
Create free trial account
If you are not yet registered as a user on the server, you can create a test account here. For more information, here.
Note: If you click Next without having entered valid credentials, you will be prompted again to enter them. Otherwise, the wizard will not be able to continue.
Publishing mode
In this step, select whether you want to upload a new workbook, create a new workbook with a template, or replace an existing workbook.
- New - Create new workbook,
- New - using a template - Create new workbook / use existing workbook as template
- Refresh - Update existing workbook
The last two options open another window in which all the card folders from the easymap explorer Portal are listed. These are sorted by category and by personal or company workbooks. Only those maps are listed for which you have authorization to edit or delete.
You have decided to replace an existing workbook. Specify here which of the workbooks already on the server is to be replaced.
Please note that when replacing a map folder, the settings of the already uploaded map folder will be compared with the settings to be replaced. This can result in different settings in the Specify Contents dialog.
Settings
Here you specify some additional information that is to be displayed in the context of your map in the easymap explorer should be displayed. You can still display this information later in the easymap explorer-Edit portal.
If you are replacing an existing map folder, the specifications are already preset with the settings of the map folder to be replaced.
Title |
The title is displayed in the easymap explorer used as a heading, e.g. in the map catalog, map view or content window. |
Description |
A description is useful to provide the viewer with information about the workbook. Here you can, for example, describe the contents of the workbook, specify sources or insert further links. See Format descriptions for how to format the text you type or insert links. |
Specify here which user group the workbook may retrieve. Clicking the button will show you all the people who are in the respective group. |

Edit/Delete permission |
Specify here which user group the workbookn may edit or replace in addition to viewing. Clicking the button will show you all the people who are in the respective group. |
Category |
Categories are used in easymap explorer Portal for sorting the different workbooks in the map catalogue. Create a new rubric by clicking the button and writing the name of the new rubric, or assign the map folder to an already existing rubric. Clicking on the button will show you all the workbooks that are in the respective section. |
Preview |
In the preview you can see the map sheets available in the workbook. The preview image that you select here is displayed in the easymap explorer displayed in the map catalog. You can use the two arrow buttons below the preview image to select another map. The ... button allows you to select another file instead of the map as a preview graphic - e.g. your logo. |
For the description field of a published workbook and for the data display in the info window in easymap explorer use HTML commands. These will later be converted into corresponding representations or hyperlinks in the browser. These columns can also be created via calculations in easymap.
The description field has some common formatting for you as buttons. Simply select the text you want to format and click the H1 button to highlight the text as the first heading.

Note: If the error "Expression expected" occurs during creation via calculations, the HTML command must be formatted as text ("..."). Note that double quotation marks in the HTML tag must be changed to single quotation marks. Example: "<a href='http://www.lutumtappert.de' target='_blank'>LT</a>".
