Generate Territories for Existing Locations

If you want to create optimal areas for your locations, or define a maximum extension or capacity, then this is the best approach for you.

easymap can help you in the following scenarios:

  • Create territories around locations that do not exceed a certain radius.
  • Territories around sites that do not exceed a certain capacity
  • Always assign customers to the nearest location
  • create fictitious locations that lie on a defined focus in a territory in order to optimize them from this perspective

Note: This variant is only possible if locations exist for all levels of the territory organization. If you do not have any locations for individual layers, you can generate them using the command Generate locations.

Theory explained using an example:

If you have sales representatives and their places of residence, but there are no locations yet, you can use this variant to create optimal territories. Go through the wizard to create a new territory structure without loading basic data or assignments. Then create your locations.

Via the territory generation to locations you now have the possibility to create territories according to the optimization criterion. If the radius is too small, note that individual areas on the map remain white, or that if multiple assignments allow individual areas to be assigned to multiple territories. Here in the figure a radius of 75 km was set around the administrative seats.

Select Territory Locations

Here you can select the appropriate locations to participate in the optimization.

If, for example, locations are very close together, you could select only one of them for a variant to see whether all locations are really necessary.
