Print

easymap maps can be printed on all printers supported by Windows. On black-and-white printers, the Windows printer driver converts the colors into gray tones. easymap can print one or more sheets. By using print areas it is also possible to print only parts of a sheet. If you have created a report, easymap can also start a mail merge.

The printing process can be started from easymap office via the menu File > Print.

Size of the map sheets

The size of the sheets in easymap workbook can be set independently from the paper size of the printer. easymap also offers the possibility to adjust the size to other paper formats, but then the sizes you specify will be scaled. If an easymap sheet is larger than the print page, the easymap sheet can either be reduced to the page size of the printer or printed in original size, but then spread over several pages.

In order to be able to control the printout in the best possible way, we recommend that you set the page to the paper size of the printer to be used later, already during the layout of the workbook, via the menu File > Page Setup.

All settings concerning printing are made in the Print dialog. The dialog allows you to select the printer and the scope to be printed.

Print Dialog

Note: If you make the settings and close the dialog via the Close button, the settings are used as the layout basis for the sheets. These settings are then used for the page view or the display of the page layout (option display page layout).

Printer

Select the printer here. The Properties button allows you to set closer properties of the printer (e.g. print page size).

Extent

Specify here what exactly you want to print. You can choose between the selected page, from which you clicked on the print dialog, the overall map folder with all sheets contained therein, a print area or a Report.

Paper size and quantity

Next to Paper Size is the paper size selected via the printer's Properties. This may differ from the paper size set in easymap.

For number, specify how often your selection (see Scope) should be printed. The option Automatic rotation selects the optimal print orientation according to page orientation. Remove the checkmark, e.g. to print a map oriented in portrait orientation in landscape orientation.

Print Range

Here you can determine how much of the content determined in the scope should be printed. You can print everything or only certain pages.

Fit into a page

Chocked: Regardless of the setting of the sheet in easymap, the content of the sheet is transferred to the printer sheet. If the sheet sizes do not match, easymap will enlarge or reduce the printout, if necessary, so that everything can be printed on one page.

Use this option if you want to print something quickly and an exact layout is not required.

Unchecked: easymap uses for the printout exactly those sizes that are set for the sheet and the objects. Even if the sheet sizes of easymap and the print output do not match, the easymap settings are preferred. If the printer sheet is larger than the sheet set in easymap, the content is printed in the top right corner, the rest of the sheet remains unused. However, if the printer sheet is smaller, easymap automatically performs page splitting.

Use this option when an exact print layout is required or you want to use the page layout option.
