Working with EasyMap

In this chapter, you will learn more about how EasyMap works.

  • Program window: First familiarize yourself with the EasyMap program window. Read what the menu commands and the toolbar offer and learn more about the control windows. We will explain how you can arrange the different windows individually and show you how to use EasyMap.
  • Contents of the map window: The central area of an EasyMap-workbook is the map window. All maps, layers and objects are inserted and edited here.
  • Maps: The digital maps delivered with the EasyMap software serve as the basis for any work in EasyMap. Learn more about base maps, scales, automatic zoom and map sections.
  • Data Concept: With EasyMap, geographically structured data tables can be converted into thematic maps. For this purpose, the data to be displayed is imported or linked via the intended interfaces . The data can then either be assigned to an area (area module) on the map via a unique area number or placed on the map via coordinates contained in the data.
  • Edit content: Learn more about editing objects and properties of various map elements.
  • Present results: Finished maps and results of your map evaluations can be issued to other persons in different ways. For example, as graphics, PowerPoint or directly via the browser-based EasyMap Xplorer just to name a few options.
  • Reporting: The report function in EasyMap is a convenient tool to quickly and easily provide results and maps for colleagues and supervisors.
  • Global settings: Application settings such as languages, memory paths or zoom auto settings can be saved permanently in the options or the properties of the workbook used can be viewed.
  • Automation and object model: Automate the output of current reports and integrate EasyMap into your business processes.
