Search in

In easymap you have two possibilities to search for contents in your map:

  • Quick search via the Search field
  • Search via the Find

Quick search via the Search field

In the editable toolbar you will find a search field on the far right. Here you can conveniently search through all layers and elements in your map. The search field shows all hits from all map layers in a result list with a small preview. This allows you to select individual elements directly and find them even faster. Not only the layers of the map are searched, but also e.g. the analysis labels.

Search operators

To narrow down your search, or to obtain only certain results, you can make the following modifications to the search.

Note: Please note that the search is not case sensitive.

Normal input Finding parts of content
Search phrase in double quotation marks Button
Like-operators:: * ? # [ ] Search for specific parts of words

Search via the Search dialog

To open the dialog window Search, you must first select the layer you want to search in the map. Afterwards the dialog can be opened with the key combination CTRL + F or via the menu Edit > Search.... Here you define the criteria for the search. During the search easymap compares both territory names and territory numbers of the selected level with the text you entered.

Searching via the dialog allows you to display all map elements that match the search criterion one after the other. The elements found are marked by a crosshair. In contrast to most other dialogs in easymap, this dialog remains open during the whole search process. You can also perform other actions during an ongoing search. A click on Continue Search sets the crosshairs in the map to the next hit.

Note: Please note that a search is only possible if a visible layer of the map is activated as selection layer . Set the layer either via the control window Contents or in the toolbar as the active layer.
