Export graphics
The command Export > Graphic in the menu File allows to export easymap maps in a common format for graphic files as well as in PDF and XPS format.
Image Format
Select the format of the exported graphic here. Please refer to the explanations on raster formats and vector formats on the page supported graphic formats.
Extent
In addition to the output format, you can also specify the content and size of the image in the export options. In terms of content, easymap distinguishes between
The option Export Sheet Background specifies that the background color of the sheet forms the background of the graphic. If the option is not set, the background is transparent. Removing the checkmark is only possible for the graphic formats *.png, *.tif or *.emf.
Size
The size of the graphic depends on the resolution in dpi (dots per inch) and the respective width and height in pixels or in cm. You can specify the size of the graphic either in pixels or in centimeters. The values in centimeters are converted to pixels based on the resolution you set.
Button 1:1
Use this button to adjust the width and height (in cm) to the size of the sheet. For print areas, the size is adapted to the area on the sheet.
Resolution in dpi
The resolution is indicated in dpi (dots per inch) and shows how many pixels of the graphic correspond to one inch, thus approximately 2,54 cm. If your graphic is to be printed on a 600 dpi printer in 10x10 cm size, you have to set 600 dpi and a width and height of 10 cm. easymap calculates for you that about 10/2.54*600=2362 pixels would be necessary to print the graphic cleanly.
The resolution should depend on what you intend to do with the exported graphic. If it is to be printed, high resolutions are required, which should be based on the resolution of the printer that will be used later. If the graphic is only intended for the screen, low resolutions are sufficient.
Required RAM
The memory requirement used depends exclusively on the number of pixels used, i.e. width (in pixels) x height (in pixels). Here a value is reached very quickly for which the available working memory is not sufficient. If this is the case when exporting graphics, a corresponding message is displayed. In this case, you must reduce the number of pixels or alternatively reduce the resolution.
Further options
For some image formats, you have the option here to make further settings that are relevant for the respective format. The following formats offer further setting options.
Georeferenced TIFF |
Coordinate Referenceset the sheet to be referred to here. Write TFW File: here you can set whether an additional TFW file should be generated. Color Depth: specify which color depth you need for the export. |
PDF document |
PDF-Generator: choose between the different PDF generators. Note: Skia is a generator integrated in easymap. Microsoft Print To PDF is an external component from Microsoft that is also available to you during installation. Save information: if you want to read author, properties of card and sheet, set this option to Yes. |
Scalable Vector Graphics |
Pixel precision: set the decimal places for your pixel coordinates here. Embed control panel: here you have the possibility to insert controls. Produce HTML-Page: here you can set whether an HTML page should also be generated. Label and group items: if you want to group and label your elements, you can set it here. |
