Create project

Create your first easymap project! easymap projects are saved as .empx file and can only be read by easymap.
In this tutorial you will learn everything about opening as well as saving your easymap projects.

Open easymap projects

Create a new project

To do this, open your software either from your desktop shortcut or from your Start menu.

You will be taken to our easymap start screen. Here you will find direct links to many helpful topics. On the left you will find your previously accessed projects and you can access them again via quick access.

You also have the possibility to go directly to our support page - Our home page, to this tutorial, to our update news or to our video tutorials. You can also find all our map examples here. Here it is worth to have a look every now and then. Get to know new functions and be inspired by the possibilities.

You will also find all important and current news about easymap but also about us, infas 360. Whether you want to know about the new update, discount promotions or interesting use cases.

To create a new map folder, you can now click on "empty map folder" in the upper part. You will be taken directly to a new project and to the actual easymap user interface.

Open an existing easymap project

If you want to open an already existing project, you can either go to the start screen via your desktop shortcut or via your start menu. On the left side you will find all the projects you have already called up listed. Here you can open the corresponding one.

Alternatively, you can also open an existing project via the actual program window.

Go here to the menu item "File" - "Open", or via the toolbar on the icon Open.

You can also access all existing projects via your Windows Explorer. To do this, go to the path in your network where your project is saved. There you can open the file as you are used to from Windows with a double click or with a right click and then "Open".

Note: You can also store your documents in web-based document libraries of Microsoft 365 starting with easymap version 12.2. For example, access your storage locations in OneDrive or Sharepoint directly.

Save easymap projects

If you have created a project or made changes to a project, you should always save your project. easymap does not save automatically!

Choose between Save or Save as.

Save

If you save your project for the first time, easymap will ask you under which name and where easymap should save the map folder. Choose a meaningful name and a suitable storage location.

If you want to save your changes to an existing project, easymap will save your revised version to the same location under the same name.

Save as

You do not want to overwrite your project and create a copy instead? Then select Save as. easymap will now create a new project without overwriting the existing file. You can choose a new name and a new save path.

Note: Starting with easymap version 12.2, you can also store your documents in web-based document libraries of Microsoft 365. For example, access your storage locations in OneDrive or Sharepoint directly.
