Adapting areas to other borders
In sales territory organizations with several sales divisions, it is sometimes desired that the boundaries of the territories in the different sales divisions be adjusted to each other. Occasionally, there is also a wish that other boundary structures be adhered to in territory optimization, for example, the boundaries of the federal states or the postal code regions. Such requirements easymap can comfortably handle. Open menu Territory organization, select Edit and then Territory boundaries like level; then select the territory level whose boundaries should be adjusted and then the territory level whose boundaries should be kept if possible.
Please note that easymap always allows such an adjustment for the highest level in the territory hierarchy, but for subordinate levels only if all superordinate levels are empty (i.e. do not contain territories). This type of border adjustment is therefore preferably used in top-down territory planning.
Note: The command works best with empty territory organizations, otherwise the system tries to create the area layout from existing territories. If you have already created territories, it is best to delete all assignments and then delete the empty territories before executing the command.
If the territory level on which you execute this command is itself based on another territory level ("brick level"), two cases must be distinguished:
- If the brick level is empty, i.e. no territories have yet been created in this level, territories will also be created in this level whose layout corresponds to the selected target level. A 1:1 allocation is then made between this brick level and the territory level based on it. If even the brick level is based on an empty territory level, this procedure continues recursively.
- If the brick level is not empty, it is not changed and an attempt is made to cut the target level from the existing areas as best as possible. In the case of large areas, this may not be sufficiently successful.
Automatically assign unassigned territories
Here you automatically assign all bricks that have not yet been assigned to the nearest territory. The existing assignment is not affected by the update. The command can be found in the context menu for the level in Control window Territory organization under the menu item Edit.
Note: All bricks not yet distributed cannot be assigned more than once in this action. Multiple assignments can only be made manually.
If hierarchical numbers are used, the command is only available at the lowest territory level.
Optimization options
Assignments of areas can be changed via Optimizations. Locations can also be changed via location optimizations.
