Assignment Locking
Assignments and inventory protection
Policy protection is a property of a particular row in the assignment table. If assignments are made under Position protection, these assignments cannot be changed. With Multiple assignment, the Entry protection can only exist on a part of the assignments. Only when the locked assignments are released can they be changed again.
This type of blocking is useful, for example, if you want to secure a sales representative a certain core area (for example, around his place of residence) or if certain long-standing customers are to remain assigned to a certain sales representative in any case. In territory structures with several hierarchy levels, you can also use grandfathering to ensure that certain sales representatives remain in a particular region in any case.
Note: Please note that the policy protection has no effect on assignments at lower or higher levels.
Example
If a policy protection indicator has been set up for the assignment of postal code 53175 to carrier route A, other postal codes may be assigned to this carrier route or removed from the carrier route. If carrier route A is assigned to a particular region, it can be assigned to another region despite the validity period for postal code 53175. Thus the assignment 53175 remains to district A, but the regional affiliation can change. You cannot delete a territory to which bricks are assigned and for which grandfather protection exists.
