Additional Optimization Options
In these additional options, you can make further detailed settings that may be necessary for optimization.
Generating Territories
The following options serve to create optimized areas.
preference |
More compact territory | More importance is attached to spatially compact territory cuts than to the compensation after the optimization variable. |
More balanced optimization result | More emphasis is placed on compensation after the optimization variable. It is accepted that some territories no longer form a coherent spatial area in order to achieve this compensation.
None | A compromise is used between the two procedures mentioned above.
Distance calculation |
Fastest journey time (car) |
Optimize your properties according to the fastest travel time. The values of a standard car are taken into account. Note: The available options are determined by the license you have purchased. This function is only available if you use the extensioneasymap office pro or easymap professional. For each object drawn, credits are deducted from your quota. The more data records your table contains, the more credits will be deducted. |
Shortest driving distance (car) |
Your properties are re-optimized taking into account the shortest route. The values of a standard car are taken into account. Note: The available options are determined by the license you have purchased. This function is only available if you use the extensioneasymap office pro or easymap professional. For each object drawn, credits are deducted from your quota. The more data records your table contains, the more credits will be deducted. |
|
No | Optimization is based exclusively on the airline distance
Geographical barriers |
Specify whether EasyMap calculates the distance of a brick to the territory location using the linear distance or whether it additionally includes topographic obstacles (barriers) such as mountains, rivers or bays in the distance calculation. These are read from Barrier-base map Note: The barriers are not listed as base map in easymap by default. If you want to have a closer look at the barriers, you can display them under the menu Extras > Options and insert them as base map in easymap. You will find the item in the listing under Advanced (tab General). In the control window base maps the barriers appear under other! |
|
Yes (Location-weighting) |
If you have selected the Territory generation for locations mode, the weightings of the locations can be taken into account when optimizing the territories. The territory assigned to a 50%-weighted site will then only be about half as large as the territory assigned to a 100%-weighted site. |
|
Yes (Territory-weighting) |
If you have selected the Balancing mode, the weights of the territories can be taken into account when optimizing the territories. A 50%-weighted territory will then only be about half the size of a territory with 100% weighting. |
Additional Restrictions
You can define additional conditions for the territory layout here. This option block is only displayed if you have selected Territory generation for locations mode. In addition, the optimization must be carried out at the finest territorial level (i.e. the level based directly on the basic building blocks). The remaining area "Not assigned" must be released at all levels because bricks may have to be converted to "Not assigned".
Note: Please note, however, that this makes it more and more difficult for the optimizer to create balanced territories. If you specify additional conditions, some bricks can be set to not assigned because they cannot be assigned to any territory under the specified additional conditions.
This setting only appears if multiple assignments have been allowed in the created structure. If you set Yes here, territories that are formed around a location will adhere to the distance limit you have entered - even if this results in areas that are serviced by several territories. With No as the setting, no multiple assignments are created. |
||
Max. Distance to location in kilometers |
The territories formed around a site respect this distance limit. Delete the contents of the property to remove this additional condition. |
|
Max. Capacity of the site |
This setting only appears if you have selected Data column in the optimization criterion. Territories formed around a site are assigned only as many bricks as are needed to reach the specified capacity. Delete the contents of the property to remove this additional condition. |
Additional Options
These are actions that the Optimizer can perform directly for you for reasons of convenience. All actions can also be performed later at any time using the menu commands.
Generate Optimal Locations |
Create None |
No locations are created. |
Optimize existing |
If location levels already exist, existing locations are deleted and new, optimized locations are added. If no location levels exist, new levels are created. If multiple site levels have been created for one of the optimized territory levels, this option is not available. |
|
Create new layer |
A new, additional location level is created for each of the optimized territory levels. Optimum locations are created in these. |
|
Assign distinguishable territory colors |
Yes |
Here the colors are created differently according to the newly generated territory. An attempt is made to provide neighbouring territories with different colours. |
No | ||
Label territories with city names |
Yes |
The territory is designated by city names. You can also start this process later with the command Territory organization > Edit or in the control window with the context menu item Edit of the corresponding level. |
No: |
Territories retain their previous names. Newly emerging territories are first given a generic name. |
