Once the territory structure or status quo has been created, the existing areas can be evaluated and changed in a further step. To evaluate the areas, it is useful to add additional data to the territories.

Additional data and work tables

While the structure data are mandatory for the description and administration of a territory structure, so-called additional data can be added if required.

Examples of additional data:

  • Population, households, purchasing power per postcode (= additional data for basic modules)
  • Visiting times and travel times of field staff (= additional data for territories)
  • Sales area (= additional data for locations)

Additional data can be used for each area and location level. These are managed in so-called territory work tables.

Allocations

Assignments here means the assignment of one or more bricks to a new superior territory. These assignments form the basis for all sales territory planning. Between each two levels within the territory structure easymap holds an assignment table, which assigns each brick of the finer level to a territory of the superior level. If multiple assignments are allowed, one brick can also be assigned to several higher-level territories.

The allocation table is updated during all allocation processes and contains the current and with the map view as well as the organisation chart view synchronised status of the area allocation at any time. This assignment table can be used for further processing in other systems within your planning workflow.

easymap usually displays assignments within the working tables. If you create a new table for a level via New table, the assignment to higher levels will be included.

Compare Territory Structures

A frequent requirement in the course of territory planning is the comparison of different territory structures.

Function Is in - Which customer has changed the assignment?

With the column Located in, you can have a number or a coordinate identify to which area of another level it falls. You access the Located in function in an imported customer table as follows:

  • On the table toolbar, click the last button Add column and select Lies in.
  • In the tab Position the position of the customer is determined by a number (e.g. postcode) or by geographical coordinates. With the option Number is in column the appropriate level must be set (e.g. postcode areas - areas).
  • In the Territory level tab, the "Is in" is finally selected, i.e. in this example the corresponding level of the territory structure.

For each position that is determined, the column checks in which area of this plane the point falls. If the position does not fall in any of the areas, the result remains empty.

Finding points in the same position

If you have created your territory structure on the basis of points (customers), you can visualize points with the same position on the map or display them in a query table.

The function can be reached in the control window area organization via the context menu to the point level, in the submenu Edit. easymap creates a query to determine the points with exactly the same position and displays the query result in a table. Points with exactly the same position can only be determined if the points were placed on the map using geographical coordinates.

Display Options

Table Caption: Here it is possible to change the default name of the generated query.

Only show items with different assignments: Setting No shows all points with the same position, setting Yes shortens the list to points assigned to different territories only.

Display as Analysis: The Yes setting allows the points to be displayed as an analysis on the map.

Selecting the displayed assignment

If there are several assignments of the point level to territories, the territory levels are offered to you for selection. In the table, you can then compare the assignments of the points with the same positions.
