Place Elements
With the help of this command, you can automatically place the elements of a layer optimally in the area.
The command Place elements can be found in the context menu of a layer in the control window Contents. However, this is only available for area-related analyses and area descriptions.
There are three options for automatic placement: on central point, align to other elements and optimal placement in the area.
At a central point
Positions the texts on the central point in the area. No other elements are taken into account during positioning.
Align with other elements...
If there are several layers (such as area-related analyses or texts) that use the same base or map layer, they can be aligned with each other.
First select the layer that you want to re-align and call the command Place elements > Adjust to other elements from the context menu.
You will then see a list of all levels that are based on the same map base. Select the layer at which the elements are to be aligned.
Under Placement defaults you can also specify the position (e.g. below or above) and the distance between the elements. The distance between the enclosing rectangles of the objects involved is calculated as the distance.
Note: Switch the elements of the layer in the Properties to Enlarge to scale so that the settings can be correctly applied at each zoom level. Otherwise the placement defaults are only correct for the View 1:1 like expression.
Optimal placement in the area...
With an optimal placement in the area, other layers with their objects can be included in the placement so that they are not covered by the new elements to be placed.
All city and label levels as well as all symbol-drawing analysis levels are available for selection as levels to which you can align.
