Variants of area optimization

Here you make the selection for your optimization. Depending on the variant, the territories can be distributed differently. You therefore determine how the initial situation is to be taken into account.

Reorganization

In the reorganisation of area optimisation, new territory boundaries are generated regardless of existing territory boundaries or locations. However, the restricted territory remains unchanged. All previous assignments are dismaped and new territories are created according to your specifications.

Balancing

With balance the existing territories are only changed to the extent necessary for balancing. Any existing locations are not taken into account. Restricted territories remain unchanged.

Generate Territories for Existing Locations

Territory generation for locations is only offered if locations are available for an area level. If this is the case, this optimization variant can be used to generate optimal territories for the existing locations. Blocked territories remain unchanged.

Note: Please note that you can only expect meaningful results if the locations are distributed similarly to the potential. With this optimization variant, you can define additional conditions, namely a maximum distance from the site and adherence to a capacity limit for each site.

Top-down optimization

The Top-Down Optimization is often chosen in a multi-level territory structure, if the territories of the superordinate level are to be defined first (e.g. the territories of the regional sales managers) and only then these territories are to be further subdivided (e.g. into work areas for sales representatives). The user can either specify the number of subareas into which the higher-level areas are to be subdivided, or he can specify target values for the subordinate areas, whereupon easymap calculates how many areas would have to be created.
