Zoom within the selected map

By using the Zoom function within the highlighted map from the View menu, you can specify specific sections of a map. To use this function, the map must be selected via the control window Content or in the map window marked (visible via a hatched frame around the map).

After you have activated the function, the map is surrounded by a special grey wave signature to make it clear that this mode is active and that the zoom functions now only refer to this map. Now you can set an ideal section with the usual zoom and shift functions. If the map section is the way you want it, deactivate the function again to keep the section.

Note: You can also add this function by customizing the toolbar in easymap for DeepL access.

Difference to "normal" zooming on the Map

By default, all zoom commands and move commands refer to the displayed section of the sheet. This section has no relevance for the map folder, but above all has no effect on exports or printouts.

If the mode Zoom within the marked map is active, now not the visible sheet section is changed, but the displayed section of the map. In contrast to the sheet zoom, this has effects on expression or exports. The map will also save this section.

The meaning of the zoom commands and the move commands is the same apart from this important difference.
