Automatic zoom yes or no? - A decision aid
It is not always clear at the beginning of your work whether you will need the automatic zoom function in the map folder or not. EasyMap is so flexible that you can switch on and use the automatic zoom at a later point in time.
If, for example, you are in a planning phase of your project, you can switch on the automatic zoom function for the planning itself on a sheet. When the planning is finished and you want to output this structure as a printed map, you should start a new sheet for printing. This sheet does not contain an automatic zoom and only selected elements of the topography. From the beginning, a clear separation between planning and printing is achieved.
Working without automatic zoom - what do I have to consider?
It is not always necessary to use the automatic zoom function. For example, when preparing a map sheet for printing a large-format map. In this case, you should not use the automatic zoom function to be able to directly see and estimate whether the map meets your expectations.
In order for the map to be adequately designed, you should deactivate the automatic zoom function for the desired sheet directly. This means that the elements inserted on the sheet are still displayed in the Observe scale ranges state, but this no longer has any effect on the display.
In the first step, you should make the layers visible that are to be displayed later during printing and either delete or make all unwanted layers invisible.
